A German-based technology company that specialises in metalorganic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD) equipment has received a new substantial new order.
AIXTRON has announced that it will provide Jiang Su Can Yang, which is a joint venture with one of Taiwan’s leading manufacturers of ultra high brightness LEDs, with planetary and showerhead Hb-GaN LED MOCVD tools.
The order, which was made in the further quarter of 2009, will be used at a new FOREPI purpose-built facility in the Chinese province of Jiang Su.
Dr Frank Chien, chief executive of FOREPI, outlined the reasons why the company choose AIXTRON to supply the systems.
He said: “The excellent performance we have received from our existing planetary and showerhead systems from AIXTRON at FOREPI in Taiwan have translated directly into high quality product performance, yield, and cost of ownership.”
Earlier this week, AIXTRON also disclosed that it is on track to achieve record results for 2010 - with revenues in the first quarter of 2010 rising by 31 per cent.
