A US manufacturer has announced it is to enter the market for organic LEDs (OLEDs) and lighting.
Verbatim Americas is to reveal its intentions at the forthcoming Lightfair International exhibition in Las Vegas and will give visitors a chance to see its new offerings for the first time and will include the world's first dimming OLED prototype ever developed.
The company's president Randy Queen commented that the brand is looking at "a huge area of growth with a solid product" and he believes its applications will show "noticeable advantages" to rivals in the market.
He believes that the brand's reputation and that of its parent company Mitsubishi Chemical will mean its new range will be a "definite win" as it strives to deliver energy-efficient lighting at an attractive price to consumers.
The electronics company made its name as a maker of computer accessories such as external hard drives and flash memory data storage devices.
