Curious consumers in the US can receive free online tutorials to teach the benefits of LED lighting.
San Francisco-based firm Elemental LED recently launched a programme called LEDucation via its website offering videos and factsheets for people who are unsure or would like to understand more about the technology.
The company has claimed the initiative will help potential customers master the task of assembling their own diode-based product or even how to modify these items to suit their individual needs.
Elemental's chief executive Max Darling believes that many consumers see these offerings as more complicated pieces of equipment than they are in reality.
"We want to make sure that everybody can reap the benefits of LED lights, which include saving electricity, reducing your carbon footprint and improving the aesthetics of your home," he said.
The organisation describes itself as lighting "nuts", but also enthusiastic about sustainability and promoting good customer service.
