A US manufacturer that has specialised in the production of fluorescent household lighting over the past five years has unveiled a new line of street luminaires using LED technology.
Florida-based ClearLite said its new innovation offers reduced glare for motorists and creates energy savings of up to 70 per cent, not to mention the significant reduction in chemical emissions in comparison with its incandescent predecessors.
Furthermore, the company indicated that its LED luminaires would require less maintenance than the current versions as they have a longer lifespan.
Thomas Irvine, president and chief executive of ClearLite, said the longevity of this technology is the reason it is one of the fastest growing categories in emerging lighting markets.
Furthermore, he suggested the company's reputation in eco-friendly luminaires "places us in the perfect position to create a new trend that is both safer and more effective than what is currently available on the market".
