Visitors to the Green Photonics Forum in California today (June 16th) and Thursday can join a session on the acceleration of LED backlighting in displays such as advertising and luminaires.
Marc McConnaughey, vice-president of strategic development, lighting and display technology, will present the session at the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association's annual Green Photonics Forum.
In it, he will discuss the growing opportunities available to companies in the LED sector and the challenges they currently face, while analysing how to best optimise state-of-the-art diode-based innovations for cost-efficient general luminaires and liquid crystal display backlight technology.
As part of his talk, Mr McConnaughey will highlight how Rambus itself has been able to manufacture thin, bright and cheap-to-produce LED units for a variety of uses.
The company, with its headquarters in Los Altos California, was founded in 1990 and specialises in "the invention and design of architectures focused on enhancing the end-user experience of electronic systems".
