US firm Vishay is creating a development kit for LED lighting designers which it is said will get industry professionals up to speed with its latest solid-state solutions.
The Pennsylvania-based manufacturer, which also has a range of clients including those in the military and aerospace sector, said the kit will have new LED panels for streetlights and industrial overhead luminaires at the core of its package.
Furthermore, the company explained the diode-based product is part of an attempt to broaden its optoelectronics portfolio.
Vishay stated that it hoped this development kit would help designers avoid delays and be able to focus on getting these items to market quicker, while adopting energy-efficient, eco-friendly, long-life LED technology.
Two panels are available to customers and each one can be programmed to respond to input from an ambient light sensor. And both come with undervoltage and overvoltage control as well as load dump protection.
In addition to its LED production, Vishay also manufactures a range of products including discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components.
