Apple chief executive officer Steve Jobs said two weeks ago that "the display is the most important component of the entire phone."
As of yesterday (June 23rd) afternoon, both Gizmodo and MacRumors had reports from more than 20 individuals that there was discolouration of the new Retina screen, creating an overall yellow hue - which remained present even after adjusting the phone's display settings.
The company has, however, agreed to replace these affected models.
Elsewhere, Reuters recently reported that Samsung is to set up the world's largest OLED production line at a cost of $2.13 billion (£1.42 billion).
It will have a monthly capacity of 30 million three-inch mobile screens and the firm claims the new products will offer considerable energy efficiency advantages over those items that are presently on the market.
