A 2 mm fibre optic carries light from the LEDs along the length of the pipe, making it a suitable flexible alternative to conventional solid tubes.
Bivar promises no light leakage from the pipe due to the fibre optic, with 98 per cent of the light from the LEDs making it out of the end.
Michael Finn, vice-president of sales and marketing at Bivar, says: "The ORCAdapt is our answer to customer demand for a complete, cost-effective light pipe system that offers a greater level of design freedom with brilliant light output and high performance."
The LEDs used in the system can output one, two or three colours as required and the light pipes are available in lengths ranging from 2.5 inches to 238 feet.
