New pocket cameras introduced by JVC have no need for data cables, thanks to their built-in USB connectors.
The JVC PICSIO GC-FM2 is due for release in September and includes integrated USB connectors as well as the option of using a conventional cable to link it to the multipurpose data socket.
Its USB connection is not only used to transfer data, however; the camera also charges via the linkage, even while files are being shifted.
JVC suggests that this allows it to continue being used as soon as its internal storage has been emptied of the previous set of snaps.
The GC-FM2 is one of two new models introduced by the company, both of which support full high-definition video and come with a three-inch touch-sensitive screen.
Pre-installed LoiLoScope EX image editing software can be used directly from the cameras when they are connected to PCs, meaning there should be no need to install software on the computer itself in order to modify pictures.
