Different electrical connectors could be one reason why vehicles need a battery charger that suits their design.
European battery charger innovator CTEK has issued advice on some of the myths surrounding maintenance of the power-giving devices.
For instance, the company warns against adopting a "one size fits all" attitude to charging batteries back up.
It adds that different vehicle types - such as boats, motor homes and ride-on lawn mowers - may have varying needs in terms of their power supply.
The electrical connectors used to attach the battery to their engines could be one source of this variety.
CTEK develops high-quality charging systems and retails directly to consumers, as well as to original equipment manufacturers.
The company explains that the latter category allows, for example, sports car manufacturers to provide customers with bespoke charging options for vehicles that are not usually used regularly enough to store a charge of their own.
