Digital Lumens, a Massachusetts-based developer of systems combining connected LEDs and sensors to offer intelligent illumination in business environments, has been named a Technology Pioneer for the coming year.
The company's systems are specifically targeted at warehouse installations for companies looking to optimise their lighting infrastructure.
In the coming days, Digital Lumens is to be honoured at the Annual Meeting of the New Champions, due to be held by the World Economic Forum in China.
A total of 31 companies have been selected by the forum as Technology Pioneers for 2011, including two based in Massachusetts.
Tom Pincince, chief executive officer and president of the firm, comments: "Organisations globally are striving to be more efficient, reduce their carbon footprint and lower energy usage."
Digital Lumens says that, once activated, its Intelligent Lighting System puts in place a smart illumination grid, with sensors and high-performance LEDs combining to reduce bills.
Meanwhile, LightRules software puts the power in the hands of managers to control the lighting infrastructure as they wish.
