New semiconductors from Vishay aim to cater for high-temperature environments such as aerospace applications and down-hole drilling.
The passive semiconductors, named the Vishay Sfernice PHT range of high-precision wrap-around chip resistors, offer resistances up to 7.6 megohms and power ratings between 12.5 mW and 100 mW.
In addition to their wrap-around construction, the resistors also feature gold connectors, with larger terminations available should the user have a need for high power dissipation.
Vishay suggests that the maximum storage temperature of its semiconductors sets a new benchmark for the industry.
These resistors may be stored at 230 degrees C and can operate at anywhere up to 215 degrees C from a low of 55 degrees below freezing.
Vishay previously announced the availability of heavy-duty capacitors with ratings of up to 2,235 micro Farads.
This represents a doubling of the previous maximum available from the firm, with the capacitors rated at a tolerance of five per cent either way.
