Curing print materials with ultraviolet LEDs was a subject for discussion at the recent 2010 Digital Label Summit held by British firm Integration Technology.
The company's chief executive officer, Adrian Lockwood, opted to hold a question and answer session in place of a conventional presentation.
He explains: "Rather than deliver a presentation, the organisers felt the audience would be better served by discussion."
Through the discussion that followed, he highlighted how ultraviolet LEDs can be used in print curing and could form an important part of the future of the labels industry.
As well as their potential for use in curing inkjet prints, Mr Lockwood claims that there is possible growth to be seen in using ultraviolet LEDs on flexographic inks as well.
Integration Technology has offices in a number of different countries worldwide, including the US, Korea and China, with distribution relationships also giving it access to the Japanese market.
