LEDs will ultimately find applications in a broad range of conventional illumination systems, according to the organiser of a Middle East lighting exposition.
Epoc Messe Frankfurt predicts that building regulations in the region and trends taking place around the world will drive interest in LEDs among construction professionals looking for sustainable technologies.
Jessica Minton, senior manager for the firm's Light Middle East show, says: "The demand for energy-efficient new lighting technologies and the increasing switch to LED solutions over traditional incandescent and halogen lighting will be further spurred by the huge cost savings."
LEDs are to feature particularly on the third day of the event, with a session discussing the reliability of the technology and some of the myths surrounding the devices.
However, sustainability and energy efficiency are topic strands throughout the agenda for the conference.
Light Middle East is dedicated not only to LEDs, but to the transition from old to new technologies in all areas of the lighting industry.
