The Acer AT58 TV series, developed with the design team at Pininfarina, makes use of LED lights to save power while increasing the vividness of its pictures.
According to the manufacturer, LED lights allow for an energy saving of more than two-thirds compared with conventional means of backlighting the screen.
Despite this, the images achieved are more vivid, with high-definition resolutions available on screen sizes of up to 42 inches.
The Pininfarina design for the set itself is a combination of modern materials and traditional appearance.
A glossy pedestal and transparent frame help to enhance the modernity of the sets, while their curved edges are reminiscent of old cathode ray sets.
"The design of Acer AT58 TVs was especially designed by Pininfarina to attract and relax the user," the manufacturer explains.
Acer also recently announced the launch of the C20 pico-projector, with a selection of in-built cable connectors to allow it to broadcast images from camcorders, laptops and compatible mobile phones.
