New research has predicted that there will be "huge" growth in the wireless communications software market in the next year or so.
Infonetics Research has revealed that mobile security client software sales were up 16 per cent in the second quarter of 2010 and the market is predicted to continue in this direction for the rest of the year.
Jeff Wilson, principal analyst for security at Infonetics Research, suggested that this is due to consolidation happening in the industry, which will drive strong growth through better marketing of innovative products.
He explained: "Juniper acquired SMobile and is diving headfirst into the enterprise mobile security market; McAfee picked up two enterprise-focused mobile security companies, Trust Digital and tenCube; and Symantec picked up GuardianEdge."
Mr Wilson has a track record for accurate industry predictions and has spent 14 years analysing the data networking and telecommunications markets, with expertise in network security appliance, software and services markets.
