The use of smartphones, a form of wireless communication, by both employers and jobseekers is set to substantially increase as both parties realise how "user-friendly" such devices can be for recruitment, it has been claimed.
According to Paul Daley, director of HR consulting and services at Ochre House, the "proliferation of the availability of the internet" will drive more businesses to advertise vacancies online.
With the mobile web, you can just as easily transact with those companies and apply for jobs through that medium as well – it makes it even easier," he said.
"It's much more user-friendly than having to actually actively sit down at a desktop to look for a job," Mr Daley continued, adding that smartphones will become a "much more accessible technology" as their numbers increase.
Smartphones offer more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary feature phone.
