Bridgelux, a frim which specialises in making commercial lighting using LEDs, has raised around $21 million (£13 billion) in its latest round of funding, a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission has shown.
In a bid to quell fears about how stable the technology is, the firm decided to offer a five-year warranty on all of its light fixtures late last year, Reuters reported.
This followed a trend started by companies like SolarBridge and SolFocus to pick up some new customers that were convinced the technology was stable enough.
Meanwhile, Holly Emrick, owner of furniture manufacturer Apropos Design and Roots Cabinetry, claimed recently that LED lights could be one technology that helps householders to overcome their concerns relating to the energy efficiency of their lighting systems.
Writing a blog post for Green Home Design Source, Ms Emrick listed a number of key elements to remember when assessing environmental issues.
They included the need for a clear definition of what constitutes going 'green' to help guide any decisions made.
