ON Semiconductor has announced the appointment of Hans Stork to the position of chief technology officer (CTO) and senior vice president.
The supplier of high performance silicon solutions for energy efficient electronics said that it will focus its organic research and development and technical innovation to further expand the company's energy efficient product and solution offerings in key market segments.
"Innovative technology is a distinguishing factor for semiconductor suppliers in today's highly competitive marketplace," commented Keith Jackson, ON Semiconductor president and chief executive.
"As CTO, Hans Stork will lead our global R&D teams in developing and introducing tomorrow's leading-edge silicon solutions and continuing the transformation of ON Semiconductor into a technology leader."
Mr Stork joins the firm after three years with Applied Materials as group vice president of the Si Systems Group and six years with Texas Instruments as the company's CTO and senior vice president of Si Technology Development.
