In news that may interest wireless communication device owners, Get Safe Online has suggested that a combination of different security measures such as anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewalls is necessary to remain safe online.
Tony Neate, managing director of Get Safe Online, commented: "On computers, [consumers] need online security and a security package to cover anti-virus, anti-spyware, and make sure they have a firewall.
"The most important thing now is updating the operating system [as well as] the applications or programmes, and to make sure that they have got an encryption on any wireless [network] that they have."
This assertion comes shortly after TalkTalk announced the launch of their new internet security product HomeSafe, a network-level broadband security service.
Commenting on the news, Mr Neate added: "I think it is a great option for any internet service provider to provide or give an option of providing different levels of security for people who would like it."
