Evident Technologies and Samsung Electronics Co have signed a comprehensive patent licensing and purchasing agreement for Evident's quantum dot LED technology.
Under the terms of the agreement, Samsung have been granted worldwide access to Evident's patent portfolio for all products related to quantum dot LEDs from manufacture of the quantum dot nanomaterials to final LED production.
"We are excited that Samsung, the leader in consumer electronics, has licensed our quantum dot technology," remarked Dr Clint Ballinger, chief executive of Evident Technologies.
"We already enjoy a terrific working relationship and look forward to the future of this technology."
Evident Technologies explained that it is currently determined to develop next-generation thermoelectric applications using their core quantum dot material technology.
Elsewhere, the world's largest LED screen has been unveiled in Seoul Square, South Korea. The screen is 78 meters high, stretches 99 meters wide and uses 42,000 LEDs, newslite.tv has reported.
