Wireless communication device users and manufacturers may be interested to hear that businesses are becoming increasingly adept at using social media services such as Facebook.
This is according to Spencer Parker, group product manager at Websense, who explained that "if you step back [around] two years, the de facto standard was to block Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter" within the corporate environment.
"In this day and age the vast majority of businesses have their own Facebook page, for a start, and they want to allow their users to get access to that page," Mr Parker remarked.
He did, however, caution that the uptake of such services has opened firms up to a new wave of security and malware threats. In light of this, he said that they should ensure their anti-malware protection incorporates social media.
"Brand protection is very key for big customers these days - they need to make sure their brand is not associated with malware attacks," Mr Parker explained.
