Wireless communications device manufacturer Motorola has announced that the world's first combined laptop and phone is to go on sale on Orange in early May, for £35 per month.
It has been confirmed that the Atrix smartphone will be available from May on Orange for free with a £35 per month.
The Google Android-powered smartphone comes with a range of accessories and docks.
Indeed, it features a keyboard and full-size screen, while other docks are designed for use next to televisions or on bedside tables.
Last week, Edd Dawson, editor of the independent broadband advice website broadband.co.uk, claimed that media tablets as well as increasingly sophisticated phones are driving demand for mobile broadband.
Tablets are increasing the use of mobile broadband, but he added that there are less tablets about than there are smartphones.
"So, it's the smartphone that's really driving the use, although obviously the tablet is adding to it," he remarked.
