In news that may interest wireless communication device customers and manufacturers, new research has suggested that the NFC mobile payments technology is expected to see substantial growth over the next three years.

By 2014, NFC technology will be in use by around 300 million smartphones around the world, the research firm said.
"Juniper's market analysis highlighted that, although there are still hurdles ahead, NFC prospects have been boosted by the succession of mobile operator and device vendor announcements," explained Howard Wilcox, who wrote and compiled the report.
