Wireless communication device manufacturers may be interested to hear that Vodafone has revealed the details of its newest Android based handset.
Expected to launch early this summer, the Vodafone Smart is a light weight Android 2.2 Froyo-based device and is to replace the Vodafone 845 handset.
The new device boasts a 2.8 inch capacitive touch screen and a two-mega pixal camera.
The Vodafone Smart comes with an updated version of Froyo, which runs faster than previous versions of Android operating system.
It is also the lightest Android based smartphone on the market, weighing in at 100 grams.
In other news, a new study has found that 35 per cent of smartphone owners load applications on their device before getting out of bed in the morning.
This is according to research conducted by Ericson ConsumerLab, which studied internet usage in the US, Europe and Japan.
Some 18 per cent of smartphone users engage with social networking applications like Facebook before their feet leave the mattress, it found.
