In news that may interest wireless communication device manufacturers, Sprint Nextel is set to launch two new devices later this month, the HTC Evo 3D smartphone and the Evo View 4G tablet.
The devices, which were first announced in March, are the follow-up to Sprint's Evo smartphone brand.
Sprint Nextel confirmed that the devices will use Clearwire's mobile WiMAX network.
It is expected that the Evo 3D will be the first smartphone in the US to have a qHD 3D display, meaning users won't have to wear glasses to view the display.
The Evo View, meanwhile, comes with a pen and includes e-ink technology throughout the user interface. The Scribe feature also allows users to write notes in their own handwriting.
Earlier this week, a survey revealed that the number of US smartphone users averaged 74.6 million from February through April.
Comscore explained this is a 13 per cent rise from the previous three months.
