The N9, Nokia's latest smartphone offering, may not be released in the UK.
That is according to industry commentator Chris Martin, who claimed that Nokia has not identified the UK on its list of countries to check for compatibility.
Writing for the Inquirer, Mr Martin said there are now serious doubts about whether or not the Meego-powered device be made available to UK consumers.
Nokia's communications manager, Mark Hindle neither confirmed nor denied these fears, telling the news provider: "The N9 will begin shipping in 2011. We will share more information about the specific markets and the pricing closer to product availability."
It comes after reports of Nokia extending its range of Symbian-powered smartphones despite securing a high-profile tie-up with Microsoft.
In addition to the forthcoming Nokia N5, industry news provider T3 has claimed that leaked documents show the N500, N600, N700 and N701 will all operate an updated version of Symbian.
