Hardware manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) has boasted of its one million new users in Europe, rival wireless communication firms may be interested to learn.
RIM has, of course, been confronted by increased competition in the smartphone market from gadget makers like Apple, the Inquirer has reported.
However, the manufacturer has welcomed the news, explaining via Twitter: “Pow! @BlackBerry continues momentum across EMEA with 1 Million+ new subscribers added in less than 3 weeks. #teamblackberry ^CH."
Recently, RIM's internal problems have been played out for everyone one to see, with a Morgan Stanley research note accusing it of squandering its opportunities and releasing products before they were ready.
In other news, Juniper Research suggested recently that near field communication (NFC) in smartphones could be a bigger opportunity for advertising than for payment transactions.
Coupons and smart posters will have a significant impact on how consumers transact in the future, the research firm said.
