Usability is the most important thing for websites, an expert has claimed.
George Foster, creative director at Gravitaslondon.com, a digital design company that caters for a wide range of B2B and IT companies, observed that it is imperative to keep content fresh and up to date.
Mr Foster advised sites to make sure their message is "quite clear and your navigation is easy to use".
"Make sure you deliver when you say you will and there are no hidden extras," he remarked.
"You only need somebody to have a bad experience where you fail to deliver and then they go off and tweet or talk about it with their friends. It's so much easier to lose customers than it is to gain one."
Meanwhile, Richard Harris, director of education and training at 7Safe, claimed recently that parents must take an interest in where their children spend their time on the internet.
Indeed, Mr Harris called on parents to become involved in the process.
