By employing a well-planned cloud computing policy, businesses of all sizes will benefit from greater efficiency and control over their finances, according to Andy Horn, general manager of Easynet Connect.
A well thought-out cloud strategy will help small businesses reap the rewards, Mr Horn noted.
"The biggest anticipated benefits of moving to the cloud are greater financial control and access to applications that will help enhance business efficiency," he remarked.
"In addition to this, home-working is seen as another key benefit."
Critics of the cloud often cite security concerns regarding the technology. However, Mr Horn said that "we've seen more and more solutions entering the market that make this issue very manageable", wireless communication device users may be interested to know.
A recent poll by iTWire, the IT and telecommunications firm, revealed that 67 per cent of IT managers believe that cloud computing and virtualisation held the most promise for delivering value to their organisations.
