Later this week, wireless communications device manufacturer Samsung will unveil an LTE-enhanced Galaxy S II smartphone and Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet during the IFA, one of the world's largest trade shows, in Berlin.
The two Android devices, which are variations on Samsung's Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 8.9 products, provide users with 4G connectivity and a faster 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
JK Shin, president and head of Samsung's Mobile Communications Business, commented: "With the introduction of GALAXY S II LTE and GALAXY Tab 8.9 LTE, we will take the capabilities of these devices to a whole new level.
"LTE redefines the user experience made possible by these devices and opens entirely new possibilities in terms of content viewing, sharing, quality and connectivity."
Earlier this month, however, the editor of Stuff magazine Will Findlater claimed that the launch of Apple's iPhone 5 should ensure the company's continued success in the smartphone market.
If past releases are anything to go by, Mr Findlater said that the iPhone 5 is going to be something pretty special.
