The implementation of NFC (Near Field Communication) technology within mobile phones will have a "profound impact on business in future", one wireless communication device expert has observed.
Howard Wilcox, senior analyst at Juniper Research, made the remarks after research by Westcoastcloud said that one in ten parents in the UK feels it is appropriate for children as young as four-years-old to own a mobile phone.
Furthermore, it revealed that one in ten kids under the age of ten already owns an iPhone.
"NFC technology, involving the embedding of tags in a wide range of devices and locations will have profound impact on business in future right across many verticals," Mr Wilcox remarked.
"Examples include NFC baggage tags in airlines and the NFC enabled car."
Earlier this week, Nokia announced that its new N9 handset has begun shipping to customers and stores.
Nokia said that the new phone is specifically designed for consumers who appreciate exceptional design and cutting-edge technology.
