A trade watchdog in the US has confirmed that it is set to investigate claims made by HTC that rival manufacturer Apple has infringed its patents, wireless communications device users may be interested to learn.
Last month, the Taiwanese firm filed the complaint with the US International Trade Commission - one of three complaints HTC has launched against Apple.
HTC hopes to block the import of Apple products into the US, claiming that the firm infringed its patents in smartphones, tablets and computers.
This comes shortly after Apple was forced to withdraw a mobile phone application called Jewish or Not Jewish from its online store in France.
The application meant that Apple customers could find out whether celebrities and public figures were Jewish or not.
Developer Johann Levy, who is Jewish, defended the app, insisting that it was merely "recreational".
"I'm not a spokesman for all Jews, but as a Jew myself, I know that in our community we often ask whether such and such celebrity is Jewish or not," he remarked.
