Wireless communications device manufacturer Samsung has filed a patent complaint against Apple in France, claiming that its US rival infringed on three mobile technology patents in the iPhone and iPad.
This is the latest in a string of recent cases, of course. However, unlike the others, this case does not concern the actual design of the products.
Indeed, a Samsung spokeswoman said that the French case is based on "three technology patents, and not on the design of the tablets".
The companies are also pursuing legal claims in Australia, North America and Asia.
This comes shortly after HTC lodged a fresh complaint against Apple with the US International Trade Commission over its use of patents it bought from Google.
According to the Taiwanese firm, Apple's devices infringe patents involving Wi-Fi capability and processor communication technology.
It is, in fact, the third complaint that HTC has filed against Apple.
