Officials at Samsung Electronics have confirmed that its Galaxy S II has sold over ten million units since its release earlier this year, wireless communication device users may be interested to learn.
The handset is, therefore, the quickest-selling mobile device in the company's history.
Paulo Ferreira, head of mobile product and business solutions at Samsung, commented: "Since its launch five months ago internationally and only three months locally, the Galaxy S II has seen tremendous sales success and garnered enthusiastic reviews from consumers and mobile industry watchers across the globe."
Samsung also confirmed that the Galaxy S posted strong sales figures, selling almost 20 million units since the device's launch last year.
Earlier this week, rival manufacturer Apple revealed that the new iPhone 4S is the most popular product in the firm's history in pre-order sales, reaching one million in a single day.
Apple described the new handset as the "best iPhone ever".
