Rovio, the firm responsible for the wireless communications device game Angry Birds, has announced that work has started on a film version of the popular app.
Andrew Stalbow, the North American general manager of the firm, confirmed that they were working hard on the movie.
Speaking in San Francisco, Mr Stalbow said: "We recently hired David Maisel, former Chairman of Marvel Studios who produced Iron Man, to lead our movie efforts."
Added to this, he confirmed that the firm has big expansion plans for the popular game, which has been downloaded an incredible 400 million times.
"We're building a next generation media company," Mr Stalbow boasted.
This announcement comes shortly after the Finland-based firm bought an animation studio based in Helsinki.
Currently, he said, the studio is working on a series of short videos that will be released in 2012.
Angry Birds was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009.
