New research has confirmed that visits to video-sharing websites by UK users have risen by more than a third in the last 12 months, wireless communication device users may be interested to learn.
According to figures from internet research company Experian Hitwise, the single biggest driver of traffic to those websites is music, which accounts for 33 per cent.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that YouTube accounts for almost 70 per cent of all video website hits.
Florence Welch, from Florence and the Machine, explained the benefits of having videos appearing on YouTube.
"I became really obsessed with watching Otis Reading, Sam and Dave, clips from the '60s and the Lana Del Rey videos recently," she remarked.
"YouTube is a huge thing for me to find songs, it's an amazing thing and full of the most random songs."
Experian Hitwise revealed that the research was gathered between September 2010 and September 2011.
