Toshiba Corporation announced the imminent marketing of a new tablet with the name Excite 10 LE. The new product will be displayed in shop windows in the U.S. by the end of this month and in other regions of the world will probably happen by the end of April.
According to the manufacturer, Excite 10 LE is the slimmest tablet with 10.1-inch screen in the world. The thickness of the device is only 7.7 mm at a weight of 535 grams. 10.1-inch multi-touch IPS display is manufactured using technology AutoBrite, a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, 16:10 aspect ratio, LED-back lit glass is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass, which protects it from bumps and scratches. The tablet is powered by a TI OMAP 4430 chip, running at a clock frequency 1,2 GHz. The amount of memory is limited to 1 GB, and storage is provided for 16 or 32 gigabytes of internal memory expandable via memory card format micro SD.
On the back side of the housing is mounted 5-mega pixel camera with LED flash and video recording at a resolution of Full HD. On the frontal panel of the device is provided with 2 mega pixel camera for video calls. Communication capabilities of the new product include a Micro USB port and Micro HDMI, wireless adapters and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Blue tooth 2.1 + EDR. There is also the possibility of using satellite navigation built-in GPS receiver. Among other technical features worthy of note the presence of a digital compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, light sensor and battery, which fully charged state provides up to 8 hours working on the tablet.
