I'm sure everyone is following all the social media reports on build-up, but for those (like me) who eschew twitter, facebook and all that crap, here's a short report.
Some of us arrived yesterday evening to at an empty field. It was pooring down heavily so after some initial scouting we went off to the pub to have dinner and beer (also known as the "pre-meeting"). Which worked, because when we got back it was dry. But just for a short moment.
At 7am we reconvened at the temporary HQ to await the first deliveries. It was, at that time, still pouring down and windy, and due to massive delays at the M1 all deliveries were late anyway. We marked out tents, generators, fencing and what have you.

Despite bucketloads of rain pouring down, the site stayed quite mud-free.
The sloped nature of the terrain just carries of most water to somewhere else. Apart from the places where lorries and the telehandler have been squashing the ground, there hardly is any mud to be seen.
Anyway, a lot of the tents have been set up today, a massive amount of fencing has gone up. There's a bunch of containers for storage and dc.
We even have power now mostly anywhere. As i write this email, a bunch of people are erecting the masts for the radio link that will carry our internet over the air.
It is actually starting to look like a camp!
Tomorrow, there's still loads to be done, but there's plenty of people on site already so i'm confident we'll get it all done. There's more fence to go up, The stage equipment is coming up. Terrain lighting is going to be installed. We'll have the furniture arrive.

Anyway, lots of fun, awesome people about working hard without much complaining. Great atmosphere already, can't wait until all of you are here on friday and we can have another awesome electro magnetic field!
