Edit: Looks like mine was one of the many that lacks a bootloader. There is a hex file you can flash, if you can get it.
The MicroView is a small OLED display with a built in ATMega328P, making it one of the smallest Arduino type form factors available. While there aren't many pins of the ATMega broken out from the chip, there's enough such that you can reprogram it and/or have it displaying something from whatever you have plugged it into via USB if you have the programming board with it.
The project was successful on Kickstarter in April this year; reaching almost 23 times it's original goal amount at approximately $573,000 - the project was created by Geek Ammo. Surprisingly those who backed the kickstarter didn't get a discount on it, either, it's been sold at the same price for the starter kit of $55 which makes me question whether Kickstarter was just being used as advertising or not.
Either way, I'll be looking through the tutorials and seeing what I can do with it or use it for.
