Thank you E14Alice and element14. Like kmikemoo and robogary I too was blessed with an early Christmas of sorts and received some of the great swag as well.

And as a cherry on top... the very next day I received a second package. This one containing an Arduino UNO R4 Minima, which I understand has an ARM Cortex-M4 MCU. That's a nice upgrade from the ATMEGA parts on the earlier revisions and I look forward to putting the board through its paces..... thank you, once again!
