In a recent patent application, Intel Corporation will attempt using sound as a way to authenticate connections between devices. Hopefully it will not make the already noisy coffee shop unbearable.

    A great example of why it is better not to know all of the details that go on around you.  Who knows, audio machine to machine dialog may become the next great hit for the music business.  They certainly need some fresh ideas.
