From a management perspective, would you hire a friend if you know he/she might underperform, come in late, leave early, sleep on the job, disappear for long periods of time, takes long lunches, steals from the office, causes conflicts, or something else negative? If it is a gamble on the outcome, what do you do?
I know this has been attempted in the past, and would love to hear stories about the aftermath.
