Best Learning Method

Which learning method provides you with the best knowledge retention?

I am interested to know if techies thrive on different methods than non-techies.

  • I think the best way to learn something is to try and teach it to someone else.  You find out quickly how much you don't understand.

    It certainly exposes holes in your understanding! You only truly understand something when you can explain it simply.

     

    When we pick up a new subject we sit in with an existing instructor and fill in our gaps, my gaps have grown in some areas as I last sat my Avionics Course back in 2010, but the existing knowledge, experience, technical documentation etc makes my job a bit easier.

     

    There's not much worse a feeling in class than a student hitting you with a question that exposes you as an apparent fraud who knows less than them!!
