I can't find the matching IRDA dongle though.
Here we go, the optional dongle that was required later when syncing via the screen no longer worked.

I loved mine! It worked fine until video in PCs all changed and it couldn't sync any more.

I acquired this gizmo quite a few years ago. I don't recall exactly the circumstances, but likely it was an impulse buy at a Dollar Store or a Factory Direct store. (because it looked like a lot of tech for a low price)
The chip inside is a COB (globbed chip-on-board).
There is one more test I want to do to see if I can resurrect it...
