I acquired this gizmo quite a few years ago. I don't recall exactly the circumstances, but likely it was an impulse buy at a Dollar Store or a Factory Direct store. (because it looked like a lot of tech for a low price)
The chip inside is a COB (globbed chip-on-board).
There is one more test I want to do to see if I can resurrect it...
