Good day everyone, I'm putting this here since the question is concerning the analog Joystick portion of my new controller mod. If this would be more appropriate elsewhere I'd appreciate a redirect.
I have just about everything else figured out but what I'm wanting advice on is upsizing the analog sticks from thumbsticks to hand sticks. The concept is as follows, it will be similar to how aircraft sticks used to be on PC but with slight differences. the top of the stick will hold the respective face buttons for each side of the controller. The shafts will hold the shoulder 1-3 even including the original hall-effect sensors in proper orientation for trigger 2. This part I have already worked out and put together using contoured rubber bicycle grips as the containment. I even got some plastimake to make the casing for the sticks together. Where I'm running into a problem is deciding how to upsize the actual analog stick controls. Right now I'm stuck between getting two more expensive arcade sticks to replace the original mechanisms or considering soft-potentiometers with a dowel rod rig to provide analog controls. I'm on a budget and would appreciate help on this front. I promise to post pictures after I finish as thanks for the aid
