Hello, I am new to the site though I've been aware of it for a while. I found it through watching Ben Heck's web show.

I'm currently an undergrad student in electrical engineering, although I'm 41 years old. I'm "changing careers". My previous life involved being a bench tech in various computer stores or working as a low grade IT flunky. I decided to go to college finally and opted to pursue something I've always loved but never really understood very well: electronics and electricity. I really like the idea of being able to fix things or build interesting projects, especially with microcontrollers. Looking forward to learning loads!

Hi All! I'm Matthew(17), I'm from South Africa and really I'm not a electrical engineer or anything, just a normal guy wanting to some cool stuff with cool toys. I'm interested in the Raspberry Pi and the likes, I think it's quite an achievement to make a "PC" that small.

Hi Michael,

Welcome to the Community!

A great little thing to learn about Microcontrollers is the Cypress Pioneer Kit it allows you to use Cypress's software (that is very easy to use) or you can program it in C as well.

Welcome Matthew to the Community!

You might want to check out the Blog section in the Raspberry Pi Group. Some users post projects that they are working on into Blog posts. A lot of them are very interesting and very thorough. Also if you are working on any projects there are a lot of knowledgeable people that regular that group.

The giveaways are great ....UNLESS you live in one of the countries listed.

I thought we had a solution to overcome that some time ago.

As I've said previously and to Sabrina, you only need to add a single sentence to overcome this (which wasn't for these type of giveaways), ie
complete the following sentence "E....nt14 rocks" to turn the giveaway into a game of skill.
This could be applied to any winners that were from those countries, to save everyone if necessary.
