The introduction email I received from Element 14 suggested I introduce myself. Here goes.
I am a retired computer scientist. For the first 20 years of my career I was a resarcher. The last 10 years I worked in industry (Sun Microsystems, 3Com and a few years of consulting) mostly on software and network protocol design. I have been retired since 2004. One of the things I wanted to do when I retired was learn about hardware, but didn't have the time until recently. I picked up a copy of "The Art of Electronics" along with the Student Manual and began putzing around. I got to the point where I decided to throw together a simple audio amp with microphone pre-amp. That is where I am at the moment.
