Rasebbery pi streamer

The screen would show what was now playing so it wouldn't need the Monitor turned on. I could control it with my ipad. I would like a specialised app so no xbmc please unless that's my only option.

How would I do the screen and what software would I use?

This will also go on element14 if its better there. A good guide or tutorial or even someone who's done something similar would help

P.S if the software looked good I could have a display simerlar to that of a phone

Personally I would choose the XBMC route as it works flawlessly with the Pi ... and for want you want to achieve - much of the hard work has already been carried out for you.

Never found the need to display from XBMC to an LCD screen but as a starting point look into the LCDproc addon which looks like it works well with XBMC

Just use XBMC much better and convinent time wise.

I would have preferred a dedicated music program. I was hoping for a kind of squeezebox/ sonos connect thing. Is there any remote as xbmc remote for my htpc often drops out. Maybe a rf adapter?
